How Is Halal Slaughtering Done
Animals must be slaughtered according to Islamic law, which calls for making cuts through the jugular vein, carotid artery, and windpipe. Thusly butchered animals must be conscious and in good health when they are killed.
It’s a mandatory requirement of the halal technique of slaughter to completely drain the corpse of blood. During the procedure, a trained practicing Muslim will perform a brief blessing called Tamiya. The procedure must be as gentle as feasible and comply with ethical standards for treating animals.
To obtain halal meat certification, the meat processing facility must meet strict standards and adhere to specific guidelines, including:
- The animal must be alive and healthy at the time of slaughter, and it must be slaughtered by a Muslim who pronounces the name of Allah (God) over it.
- The animal must be slaughtered with a sharp knife to ensure a quick and clean cut.
- The animal must be properly drained of blood, as blood is considered haram (forbidden) in Islamic dietary laws.
- The animal must be handled in a manner that minimizes pain and suffering.
Certified halal meat products are typically labeled with the halal logo or symbol to indicate that they meet Islamic dietary laws. The certification process can be important for businesses that wish to serve Muslim customers, particularly in the food industry.
It is worth noting that not all Muslims agree on the criteria for halal meat certification, and some may prefer to purchase meat from local farmers or slaughter their own animals according to Islamic dietary laws.
There are a few things to consider prior to the halal killing of a bird or animal
From the beginning to the end, act with mercy.
Avoid killing a single animal in front of others.
Sharpen the blade to spare the animal from suffering for an extended period of time.
Certification involves the following steps :
- Application :
You are under no cost to apply to ANT^S. During the documentation process, your designated Ant8s account executive will coordinate with the ant8s technical team to document and verify the Halal compliance of your production and the production facility. Upon approval, we will establish a Halal Agreement.
- Audit :
Your Account Executive will arrange for a Halal audit on a day that works for both parties. This audit could be carried out virtually. Employees in charge of Halal production attend a training session during the audit, which usually lasts 4 hours. The main goal of the audit is to ascertain whether and to what extent everything that has been documented is in use. To understand the rules and procedures in place for the Halal program, a staff person from the private label brand must be present during the Halal training for private label applications.
- Certification :
Your Halal certification documents will be delivered once the Halal audit has been completed successfully. Congratulations! Now that your facilities and products have received formal Halal certification, they are acknowledged globally. The most recognizable mark of sincerity, authenticity, and wholesomeness in the world will be on your products. In the future, get in touch with your Account Executive to add services or facilities.
